On May 30th Scout and I took our first dog walk with the Humane Society at Bonelli Regional Park. (Puddingstone) We had a great time and met a lot of people and dog friends.
They had many contest and prizes. This one was an ugly dog contest. There was a contest for the dog that could do the best tricks, one contest for the sloppiest dog kiss (they put whipped cream on the owners face to get the dogs to lick) and many other fun contests and activities.
The biggest part of the event was the walk. It was 6 miles but it may have been 3miles. Needless to say we were both tired when we were done. We met up with Scouts cousins. They were sure making a lot of racket, howling all over the place having a great time. Scout wasn't too sure what to think. She never howled or barked once the whole day!
Here we are towards the middle of the hike. We were standing on pudding stone dam.
One couldn't take a hike without having to drink every so often.
Here's a picture of Scout. We made it to the turn-a-round point!
On our way back we met some new friends. This dog was so gentle and very smart.
She could do lots of tricks and was a good listener. Scout said hi and then went on her way.
